Adam Greener has always been a storyteller. As a kid, he spent most of every class period filling his notebooks with doodles and sketches that often landed him in detention with pages full of “I will not…”

Today, those early impulses have evolved into large-scale canvases that mimic loose-leaf notebook paper, as if torn from the desk of a distracted grade-schooler. Through these oversized “pages,” Greener explores how youthful imagination makes sense of the chaotic swirl of culture, rules, and social expectations. His acrylic illustrations revisit the obsessions and humor of adolescence—re-presented with a sharp, subversive eye that's anything but grown-up.

His work is held in private collections across the U.S. Adam continues to paint and exhibit, inviting viewers into a communal space of reflection on the shared, formative years of growing up.
